“New Nirvana” is the first album of Jay Clemens, an award winning songwriter whose work spans numerous genres, with a special nod to the Great American Songbook and country music traditions.  “New Nirvana” was recorded during the COVID pandemic and explores narratives related to the disorientation of the times and Jay's earlier life in China and his native state of North Dakota.  Jay plays the piano, saxophone, and Chinese zither, and is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
